You can greatly improve the security of your website, email and Biz-hosting control panel by carefully choosing your passwords. Follow our tips on choosing a secure password to help keep your information private.
Easy to remember but impossible to guess.
Be creative with your passwords. If you use a word that is easy to guess, someone just might. Avoid the following:
your name, your partner's name or your child's name
your domain name or email address
your date of birth
your favourite sports team
Your password should be something that you can easily remember, because you want to avoid having to write it down. Not a word in common usage. Often, hackers will use software that tries a long list of words as your password. If you use a commonly used word, spelt correctly, you could fall victim to such an attack.
Make sure your password has the following:
at least two numbers
numbers and punctuation instead of letters - e.g. 3 instead of e, ! instead of i.
Example: you could use your car and the year you bought it: f0rdm0nd302004, instead of fordmondeo.
Don't tell anyone
No matter how hard it is to guess your password, if you tell someone else what it is, your website, email and control panel become much less secure.
Even if you completely trust the other person, someone else could overhear you.
If you can't log into your control panel, run through our quick check-list below.
1. Have you forgotten your control panel login details?
Solution: Request a reminder of your login details by emailng us or sending a support form.
2. Are you using inputting the data correctly.
Solution: Ensure all usernames and passwords are entered in lower case with no leading capitals or the 'caps lock' key pressed down.
3. Refresh the page http://cp.youdomain.co.uk by holding down the keys Ctrl and F5 before re-entering your username and password.

FTP restrictions
The username and password must not contain a " " (space) character.
The password must have more than 4 characters.
Email restrictions
The username is dictated by your domain and mailbox. For example: for the mailbox support@testing.com, the username is support@testing.com
The password must have more than 4 characters.
The domain control panel is the central control station for your domain. Login at http://cp.yourdomain.co.uk.
The domain control panel allows you to control the various aspect of your domain and hosting package such as domain settings, email settings, FTP passwords and the services included in your specific plan.
How to login to your control panel:
Step 1: Navigate using a web browser to http://cp.yourdomain.co.uk (note the absence of the www).
Step 2: Enter your control panel username and password. This is provided in you introductory email.
Note: The password is case sensitive.
